I got my lines in the water around 07:40 at my favorite fishingspot. I had 3 rods out with 3 different baits. I waited over 20minutes without a bite, so I lifted up my anchor and moved. Theboat was moved just about 50 feet so I would still be fishing in40 feet of water. Spent about 30 minutes when I decided to tryanother hole down river. 25 minutes at that location produce noaction either, so moved again. This spot showed fish right bythe bridge pier so I gave it shot. I was just about to wind inthe rods when the center rod got a hard bite. I picked up therod and the fish was pulling the line tight, got a solid hook onthe fish. When I got it up the channel cat was of reasonablesize. Once in the boat I measured it off. It was 23 inches and4.6 pounds per my digital scale. The catput up a very strongfight for am catfish that size. One picture then back into theOhio River it was returned. That way someone else will have thethrill of hooking it some time in the future. I stayed a littleloner but that was all for that spot. Seems that was only hungrycatfish in the river.

The rest of the morning I boated to a number of different spotschecking for fish with my fish finder. I never saw more that onehere and one there, not a lot at any place. I even tried fishingat 3 more spot but no bites at all! I called it a day at noontime and headed home. Everyone I talked to over the past 5 dayssays the same thing. Very few bites if any and hooking a fish isa real accomplishment. There is just NO CURRENT in the OhioRiver at this time. Hopefully on my next time to wet a line Iwill get happier results.
